COLORADO’S MOUNTAIN DWELLERS

Adventurous. Connected to nature. Proud bearers of sun-kissed skin, wind-chapped cheeks and well-worn gear.

Prepared. Tough. Adaptable. Slightly obsessed with speed. And airtime. Also, spin and rotation. Plus DIN settings. Wax. Handlebar width. Rigging.

Fearless in the face of a steep face. A cold pint. Or a rowdy stretch of anything. Heroically undaunted by a good time.

YOU CAN’T SWING A DEAD CAT around here without dinging a car with a tailgate pad, a fully rigged boat, or a roof rack bristling with skis, boards or flyrods.

Colorado’s mountains are home to a tribe of slightly sunburned nomads who work as hard as they play. The strive to serve the needs of their brick and mortar retail partners, yet who still find time to log 100+ days above treeline or drop their pals like a hot pan when the trail points down.

Their Sprinters are filled with demos, sales samples, blems and backstock…all of which needs to be cleared out to make space for next year’s models. Whether its boats, bikes, boards, skis, boots, helmets, glasses or apparel, CO’s reps absolutely BRING IT in terms of the best brands and gear.

EAGLE, COLORADO
The last best place. The official-unofficial confluence of fast water, smooth dirt, serious climbing racks, packed powder, real powder, terrain parks, trailheads, rainbows and cutthroats, and lunker bass. It’s also the epicenter of the mountain region’s outdoor rep world.

EAGLE RIVER CENTER
GEARVANA takes place within the Eagle River Center. Located at the Eagle County Fairgrounds in the center of the Vail Valley, it boasts 40,000′ of indoor space, abundant parking, an indoor dirt arena perfect for test rides, and easy access to the Eagle River.

PURPOSE

THE INTERSECTION OF NEED
Most of us live in Colorado to enjoy the outdoors with our families, kids and adventure pals. It’s among nature’s best playgrounds. Kids grow tho. Stuff breaks. Innovation inspires audacity. And making time to play isn’t getting any cheaper. We could all use a deal once in a while. To help us maintain our foothold in this last, best place.

Colorado is filled to the gills with outdoor reps, bike shops, whitewater guiding outfits and tons and tons of gear nerds with too much stuff in their garages. GV is the nexus of these two groups. Reps and shops can turn inventory into cash. Valley residents can replace old or outgrown gear on the cheap.

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL
It’s not just important to give back. It’s necessary. While we live in a valley of abundance, it’s also still rural Colorado. There’s also a great gap between the opposite ends of the economic spectrum. The needs of the most vulnerable among us are seldom met.

We can help by applying our efforts thoughtfully. Obviously a sales event like Gearvana helps everyone save a little money. But we can do more.

We’re taking corporate citizenship a step further in a few ways. To begin, kids bikes (24″ wheel and under) are commission free. We’ll expand that program into other disciplines over time.

We’ve also created a gear donation program, where all sales proceeds are gifted to The Treeetop Child Advocacy Center, an organization whose very existence illuminates not just terrible need, but the amazing capacity for the best and strongest among us to meet it.

THE TREETOP CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER supports child victims of abuse and their families through intervention, advocacy, and support services. Servicing Eagle, Lake and Summit Counties, their funding struggle is waged daily. It’s small efforts such as ours that help them provide vital and necessary care to the most vulnerable among us.

If you’d like to learn more, we encourage you to visit their website. If you’d like to make a gear donation, we’ll happily sell it on your behalf and donate 100% of the proceeds to them. Please visit us during load-in hours on Friday, September 19 between 10am-10pm where a Gearvana staffer will assist you.
